Thousands of humans go missing everyday. Unfortunately, the explanation is usually crime–kidnappings, abductions or murder. In other instances, a person can runaway to escape something, or forge a new identity.
A missing persons case that can’t be explained is considered a cold case. Of these cold cases, the vast majority have rational explanations, but investigators simply do not have the physical evidence they need to put the puzzle together.
