Some crop circle investigators say that crop circles are messages from extraterrestrials, but a new theory claims that they are messages from future humans.
Alien investigator Scott C Waring made the outlandish claim on his website ufosightingsdaily.com.

Mr Waring has previously claimed the formations are the marks in the ground left by aliens who landed a UFO in the field Read more

Crop Circles: Fake or For Real?

How can we distinguish between faked and real crop circles? Simple, this site suggests: look for features that one type possesses that the other doesn't.
... So how do we go about differentiating between the faked and the 'for real' thing? Simple, we look for features that one type possesses that the other doesn't.

For instance, a great many 'faked' crop circles feature plank marks that cut directly across the lie (near enough at a right angle) of the trampled plant stems. Easy enough for anyone to spot. Genuine circles never possess this feature.

The Crop Circle Phenomenon

In spite of 20 years of disinformation, this article says, the crop circle phenomenon has persisted and the complexity of the designs has continued to evolve.
The Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group was started in 1995 to study the phenomenon of crop circles and inform the public about what is happening in the fields of Wiltshire. This year we have recorded more than 60 formations most of them in close proximity to ancient monuments such as Avebury, West Kennett Longbarrow, Silbury Hill, the White Horses and in the Vale of Pewsey. For those new to the subject the study of crop circles started in 1980, although unusual impressions in crops and other vegetation have been noted throughout history. Much data has been accumulated since then. The number of recorded designs since the 80s exceeds 6,000 and seldom have there been any repeats, only expansions on themes already established or new designs altogether. They are found worldwide mostly in cereal crops, including maize, but also in any ground covers that can take an impression such as fields of vegetables, rice paddies, grassland, woodland (where trees are bent), sand, earth, ice and snow. Wiltshire in England is still the most active area for crop circles. Read more

A police officer contacted British UFO experts after seeing three aliens examining a freshly made crop circle near Avebury, Wiltshire. The sergeant, who has not been named, was off-duty when he saw the figures standing in a field near Silbury Hill, and stopped his car to investigate.

However, as he approached the 'men' – all over 6ft tall with blond hair – he heard "the sound of static electricity" and the trio ran away ''faster than any man he had ever seen". Read more
