The Large Hadron Collider "created a 'time warp' that sent a passenger jet thousands of miles off course" in the blink of an eye and caused a massive power black out, it has shockingly been claimed.

The huge scientific experiment, which is used to collide particles to discover more about how the universe formed, opened a time portal meaning an Iberworld Airbus A330-300 ended up landing 5,500 miles from where it was supposed to, conspiracy theorists say.

The Sealed Masoleum Believed to Be a Fully-Functioning Time Machine

Ray Godson and Stephen Coates are both keen to get their hands on a key to the thick bronze door that shields the entrance to an imposing granite mausoleum in Brompton Cemetery in west London.

Time Travel Is Possible, Say Scientists

The subject of time travel has intrigued science-fiction writers from the time of H.G. Wells, but now scientists are suggesting that the concept is theoretically sound.

A closed timelike curve is a loop back in time (somewhat like the time portals in the Hollywood film Looper). That is, at certain "locations" in spacetime, there is a wormhole such that, if you jump in, you'll emerge at some point in the past. To the best of our knowledge, these time loops are not ruled out by the laws of physics.

Recent research of Todd Brun, Andreas Winter and I shows how a time traveler can copy quantum data at will, in violation of a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics often referred to as the "no quantum Xerox machine" theorem. The method involves looping a quantum particle back many times in the past and then reading out many copies of it in such a way that you don't disturb the past. Read more

Scientists Claim Time Travel Is Possible

New research suggests that a "spacetime cloak" may make time travel possible.

A 'spacetime cloak' may be straight out of science fiction, but some day it might permit time travel or change history. A 'cloaked' individual could, for instance, travel from one place to another while appearing to vanish and appear instantaneously in a new location.

The device would speed up and slow down light to give the illusion that events have just not happened, according to the Journal of Optics. For instance, a scientifically-savvy thief with access to technology could open a safe, empty its contents, and escape right under the watchful eye of a surveillance camera, reports the Daily Mail. Quantum Time Machine "Allows Paradox-Free Tme Travel"

Quantum physicists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology believe it is possible to create a time machine which could affect the past without creating a "grandfather paradox."

Scientists have for some years been able to 'teleport' quantum states from one place to another. Now Seth Lloyd and his MIT team say that, using the same principles and a further strange quantum effect known as 'postselection', it should be possible to do the same backwards in time. Lloyd told the Technology Review: "It is possible for particles (and, in principle, people) to tunnel from the future to the past." Read more

Ghosts are a multi-faceted phenomenon that deserves to be classified as a range of different events. Many ghost sightings are readily explained as individuals who appear out of their normal location or time; often the ghost also seems to change the surroundings of the witness, giving the impression of a "time slip".

Hello. My name is Stephen Hawking. Physicist, cosmologist and something of a dreamer. Although I cannot move and I have to speak through a computer, in my mind I am free. Free to explore the universe and ask the big questions, such as: is time travel possible? Can we open a portal to the past or find a shortcut to the future? Can we ultimately use the laws of nature to become masters of time itself?

Time travel was once considered scientific heresy. I used to avoid talking about it for fear of being labelled a crank. But these days I'm not so cautious. In fact, I'm more like the people who built Stonehenge. I'm obsessed by time. If I had a time machine I'd visit Marilyn Monroe in her prime or drop in on Galileo as he turned his telescope to the heavens. Perhaps I'd even travel to the end of the universe to find out how our whole cosmic story ends.

To see how this might be possible, we need to look at time as physicists do - at the fourth dimension. It's not as hard as it sounds. Is The Large Hadron Collider Being Sabotaged from the Future?

Are all the problems with the Large Hadron Collider to the enormous technical problems associated with the project, or is it, as two physicists have suggested, being sabotaged from the future?

What if all the Large Hadron Collider's recent woes are more than bad luck and technical problems? Two noted physicists speculate that the future may be pushing back on the LHC to avert the disaster of observing the Higgs boson.

The quest to observe the Higgs boson has certainly been plagued by its share of troubles, from the cancellation of the Superconducting Supercollider in 1993 to the Large Hadron Collider's streak of technical troubles. In fact, the projects have suffered such bad luck that Holger Bech Nielsen of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto wonder if it isn't bad luck at all, but future influences rippling back to sabotage them. In papers like "Test of Effect From Future in Large Hadron Collider: a Proposal" and "Search for Future Influence From LHC," they put forth the notion that observing the Higgs boson would be such an abhorrent event that the future is actually trying to prevent it from happening.

"It must be our prediction that all Higgs producing machines shall have bad luck," Dr. Nielsen said in an e-mail message. In an unpublished essay, Dr. Nielson said of the theory, "Well, one could even almost say that we have a model for God." It is their guess, he went on, "that He rather hates Higgs particles, and attempts to avoid them. Read more
