10 Sex Demons from around the World

Throughout history and around the world, people have reported sexual contact with all sorts of supernatural beings. Here's a list of ten of them. I do have a problem with this article, however. It implies that the stories are of sexual contact are made-up. Some may be, but from personal experience I know that sexual contact with supernatural beings occurs during fully conscious states..
Throughout history and all across the world, people have reported sexual contact with all manner of supernatural beings. Many people believe “sex demons” were born out of a need to explain away subjects that were generally considered taboo. More often than not, things such as unexpected pregnancy, abortion and promiscuity were met with anger and persecution. As a result, society came up with a number of mythical creatures, ten of which are listen below. Read more

Bigfoot Sightings in Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia

Phantoms and Monsters has a round-up of recent Bigfoot news and claims in Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia.
"On December 28th, I was hiking with two friends in the Cheaha Wilderness in Alabama and came upon this footprint in the snow. We were all skeptical of what it might be, but kept following tracks down the trail. We didn't know what to think. This isn't an area associated with Bigfoot and you really don't find many people trying to fake them around here. The heel looked a little small to me to be an actual Bigfoot, so we were perplexed." New Zealand Latest Country to Release UFO Secrets

New Zealand is the latest country to declassify its UFO files. More than 2,000 pages of documents, revealing UFO sightings going back to the 1950s, are included in the files. The U.S. government, which undoubtedly has the most extensive UFO files, shows no signs of following suit, however.
Thousands of secret files on New Zealand's UFO reports are set to be made public, nearly 32 years to the day after our most famous sighting.

The files include every witness account of unidentified flying objects reported to authorities since the early 1950s, including the 1978 Kaikoura mystery.

They had been held by Archives New Zealand, which was to make them available in February after requests from the public, but the Defence Force stepped in, saying it needed to remove personal identification to comply with the Privacy Act.

The Defence Force promised to release the files by the end of this year and is due to make them public this week.

More than 2000 pages of files will be issued in 12 volumes. Squadron Leader Kavae Tamariki said the Defence Force would not comment on the files' content. Read more

Priests: Hollywood Depiction of Exorcism Not Far from Reality

This surprised me: some priests say that the Hollywood depictions of exorcism are very similar to what actually happens when exorcisms are performed.
Hollywood films have been known to stretch the truth just a little, with wizarding teens, talking dogs and families with superhero powers taking over the widescreen. Even less-family-oriented movies like the “Saw” and “Nightmare on Elm Street” series’ have taken evil to great extremes.

But, some priests say, when it comes to depicting exorcism in films, much of what is shown onscreen is very similar to what really happens during the very rare, highly confidential Catholic rite. Those afflicted with demonic possession express great physical strength and speak unknown languages in a voice that is not their own. Read more

Scientists Claim Time Travel Is Possible

Scientists claim time travel is possible by using quantum entanglement for "teleportation in time."
Forget the Verizon iPhone, the rumored iPad 2, or even my beloved annual Winter NAMM Show 2011--this is clearly the discovery of the year. You might want to be sitting down for this one.

Jay Olson and Timothy Ralph at the Department of Physics over at the University of Queensland in Australia recently published a paper entitled: "Extraction of timelike entanglement from the quantum vacuum". In the roughly seven- to eight-page document filled with equations I will probably never understand, the two discuss and conclude on what appears to be the discovery of "teleportation in time" (aka. Time Travel).

So apparently the hot word of the day is: Entanglement. Now what exactly is it? Read more

Nearly Half of Americans Think Their Pets Are Psychic

According to a poll at Petside.com, nearly half of Americans think their pets are psychic.
Sure, we've been known to post videos and pictures of cute animals in order to pep up your day or even our own. But today it's all come full circle, and now the pets are actually saving our asses. According to a recent AP- Petside.com poll, 43% of American pet owners believe their pets have a sixth sense that is particularly in tune during times of trouble.

When Jeanette Zinno and her boyfriend left a pot on the stove unattended, Zinno's Miniature Pinscher (Rocki) came to the rescue -- scurrying into the room a-la-Salt -- then proceeding to bark and alert the two owners of the impending fire in the next room. This account, among others, was tallied in the poll by Petside that focused on whether or not pet owners believed their pets to have a sixth sense. Read more

Possible Case of Spontaneous Combustion

Spontaneous human combustion is a fascinating paranormal phenomenon. Incidents that seem to fit that description definitely occur, and they're seldom ever adequately explained. This fire in Ireland seems to be a possible case of spontaneous human combustion.
Gardai are investigating the death of a woman who perished in a house fire.

The body of a mother of three, named locally as Elizabeth Loftus (50), was discovered by fire officers on the floor of her home at School Lane, off the Malin Road, in Carndonagh, Co Donegal, just after 11am yesterday.

Gardai carried out a technical examination of the scene to determine the cause of the blaze, which did little damage to the surrounding furniture. Read more

Psychic Predicted Own Lottery Win

Psychic Ocean Kinge had "a feeling in her bones" predicted her own lottery win. Best of all, she formed  a syndicate so that other people benefited as well.
A "psychic" has described how she predicted she would win £1 million on the lottery just a few months before claiming the prize.

Ocean Kinge, 45, told colleagues about a "feeling in her bones" and set up a syndicate in August.

The team of 15, who work at West London Training in Aldershot, Hampshire, went on to win £66,666.66 each by sharing a million pounds on the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle on Christmas Eve.

Catering manager Mrs Kinge, who is married with three sons and lives near Aldershot, said she discovered her special talents at the age of 19.

Romania's Witches Forced to Pay Income Tax

Romania's witches and fortune tellers have to start paying income taxes - and they don't much like the idea.
Everyone curses the tax man, but Romanian witches angry about having to pay up for the first time are planning to use cat excrement and dead dogs to cast spells on the president and government.

Also among Romania's newest taxpayers are fortune tellers — but they probably should have seen it coming.

Superstitions are no laughing matter in Romania — the land of the medieval ruler who inspired the "Dracula" tale — and have been part of its culture for centuries. President Traian Basescu and his aides have been known to wear purple on certain days, supposedly to ward off evil.

Romanian witches from the east and west will head to the southern plains and the Danube River on Thursday to threaten the government with spells and spirits because of the tax law, which came into effect Jan. 1.

A dozen witches will hurl the poisonous mandrake plant into the Danube to put a hex on government officials "so evil will befall them," said a witch named Alisia. She identified herself with one name — customary among Romania's witches. Read more

Journal’s Paper on ESP Expected to Spark Outrage

The scientific community has its panties in a twist because The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology is publishing a paper presenting evidence for ESP. That's the modern-day scientific method: don't examine evidence and attempt to prove or disprove the researchers' conclusions. Instead, ban certain topics from being investigated, while ridiculing any colleagues brave (or foolish) enough to stray off the reservation.
One of psychology’s most respected journals has agreed to publish a paper presenting what its author describes as strong evidence for extrasensory perception, the ability to sense future events.

The decision may delight believers in so-called paranormal events, but it is already mortifying scientists. Advance copies of the paper, to be published this year in The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, have circulated widely among psychological researchers in recent weeks and have generated a mixture of amusement and scorn.
