North Wales X=Files: The Dark Sidee of Witchcraft


Dark occurrences scared North Wales communities for over two decades, leading to police and church leader warnings.
Witches are usually associated with images of old hags, broomsticks and unfortunate women being dunked in ponds during centuries gone by.

However, in more enlightned, modern times witchcraft is broadly defined as anybody who practices magic, which can be used for good such as the Wicca movement.

But during the last few decades dark occurrences in communities across North Wales raised concerns that witchcraft has been used to satisfy more sinister goals. Read more

The Wicked Witches of the West

Witches are making mischief in rural Wales, according to residents. These accounts remind me a little of the "satanic ritual abuse" hysteria, which gripped the U.S. until the FBI finally issued a report that they hadn't been able to verify a single case.
Witches could be stalking the streets of rural Wales – if calls to Dyfed Powys Police are to be believed.

The force, which covers Mid and West Wales, has received 86 reports of witches in the last five years.

The force’s police incident log reveals details of the calls. One caller reported “that one individual is a witch and had attended at the house to put salt around the bed”.

A caller in January last year claimed he had been fed a “fur ball” during a witchcraft ritual. Read more
