Ted Serios - "Thoughtography"

Ted Serios was a Chicago bellhop who became known in the 1960s by producing "thoughtographs" on Polaroid film. He claimed these were produced using psychic powers.
Ted Serios was a humble bell-hop from Chicago, a hard drinking, hard smoking working man. For years, he lived a fairly ordinary life, but Ted was nothing but ordinary.

What set Ted apart was his incredible claims that he could 'think' images onto ordinary photographic film. A process that Ted dubbed 'Thoughtography'.

So called 'psychic photographers' were far from uncommon, and a great many of them who claimed to have this ability were exposed as fakes or charlatans. Because of this, Ted's claims were widely rubbished. Read more

8 UFO Cases That Generate Buzz

Most UFO sightings are simply unidentified or misidentified flying objects and are soon forgotten. However, these eight UFO cases still generate buzz.
UFO investigators see references to rocket ships, aliens and astronauts that go back to the days when humans first put chisel and paintbrush to rock. More than 6,000 years later, objects that are unidentified - at least at first - continue to appear in the skies and generate buzz.

Take, for example, the blazing pinwheel that appeared in Norwegian skies in December 2009, shown here. The sight sparked speculation that aliens were sending earthlings a signal. Other researchers speculated – and the Russian military later confirmed – that a missile failed. Read more

Romanian Blames Witchcraft for Election Loss

A Romanian presidential contender says "negative energy attack" during debate led to loss.
Was a top contender for the Romanian presidency zapped out of the race by a shadowy parapsychologist enlisted by his rival? The claim might be dismissed as preposterous in most other EU countries. But here, in the homeland of Dracula, Mircea Geoana's assertion that a "negative energy attack" led to his narrow loss to re-elected President Traian Basescu has been the talk of the nation.

"The Evil Witch defeated Geoana," wrote the daily Evenimentul Zilei in an editorial. "Romanian politicians really believe that magic forces can make you president, or can destroy you. May the Force be with us!" Read more

Body with "Very Long" Fingers Discovered on Plum Island

The Plum Island Animal Disease Center is a United States federal research facility dedicated to the study of animal diseases. During the Cold War, a secret biological weapons program targeting livestock was conducted at the site. This program has been the subject of controversies, so when a body with "very long" fingers was discovered on Plum Island, it caused some people to ask, "Is the government experimenting on humans?"
An alleged mutated human body washed ashore on Plumb Island, a small island where the U.S. Government typically studies dangerous animal diseases.

A security guard on foot patrol reportedly discovered the clothed decomposing body Thursday afternoon on the southwest beach area of the island, where access is restricted, police said.

The body was described as that of a white male about 6-feet tall with a large build and "very long" fingers. According to authorities, there were no obvious signs of trauma. Read more

Automatic Writing: Communication from the Spirits?

The Haunted Museum explores automatic writing. Is it communication from the spirits? To learn how to do it yourself, read my post Automatic Writing for Divination.
Since the early days of Spiritualism, automatic writing has been accepted as a way for trance mediums, and sometimes ordinary people, to receive communications from the spirit world. Man has always longed to communicate with the spirits and thanks to the founding of the Spiritualist movement, he now had a method of doing so. The original communications, like those of the Fox Sisters in Hydesville, were little more than knocks and raps that spelled out long and elaborate methods. Most became frustrated by such slow methods of communication and began looking for something faster -- and much more direct. Not long after, the art of "automatic writing" was born.

Automatic writing is essentially writing that is done in an altered state of consciousness that is attributed to spirits of the dead. It is believed by some that the spirits literally manipulate the writing utensil in the hands of the medium to communicate, as the writer is often unaware of what is being written and often even scrawls out text in handwriting that is markedly different than his own. El Chupacabras Fear In El Paso County, Texas

Chicken deaths near Horizon City, Texas, spark talk of El Chupacabras.
Until last weekend, Cesar Garcia and brother-in-law Juan Miranda saw their life near Horizon City as secluded and peaceful.

They moved to the area from Chicago three years ago, but have suddenly been beset by strange and unexplained occurrences.

Their rabbits went into hiding, their cat spent the weekend on the roof of their house, their roosters didn't crow, and their dogs didn't bark.

And at least 30 of their chickens were killed by an unknown interloper.

The brothers are hesitant to say what they think spooked their animals or killed their chickens.

But when pressed, they said it: El Chupacabras. Read more

Accessing and Using Your Psychic Mind

Humans' native and natural intuitive and psychic abilities, which at one time were literally part and parcel of what and who we were, have actually "devolved," Doc Edwards says, thus creating a sort of "de-evolution." So how can we access them?
... I'm sure that almost everyone, at one time or another, has heard the familiar statement that "people only use ten per cent of their brain capacity," which is just another way of restating the evolutionary problem; though, most people assume this statement to mean that the great majority of us only use ten percent of our intelligence. Now, while the truth of the lessening of our intelligence can be substantiated easily by anyone willing to invest just a little time in finding some out of the way, obscure place at almost any mall, just to sit and watch for awhile how most humans behave in public, still we are left with nagging, unanswered questions: "Where is the other ninety-percent?" and "What does that ninety-percent consist of?" The General’s Widow: A Roswell Tell-All

The Roswell UFO incident was the alleged recovery of extra-terrestrial debris, including alien corpses, from an object which crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. The U.S. military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon. However, many UFO proponents maintain that, in fact, a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover-up. Recently, the widow of General Harry Nations Cordes maintains that what fell from the skies to the desert floor in New Mexico six decades ago was not from Earth.
Captivating and credible testimony recently obtained from the elderly widow of a highly-placed U.S. Air Force General reveals that the Roswell crash of 1947 was in fact an extraterrestrial event. Her confession affirms that the true nature of the wreck has been shrouded in secrecy for decades- even from those at the highest levels of government.

Her husband, General Harry Nations Cordes, who possessed Top Secret/SCI clearance, was uniquely positioned to be "in the know" on such matters. Perhaps no other military man in history can lay claim to having been stationed at Roswell Army Air Field in July of 1947, later with Wright Patterson Air Force Base, to have worked at Area 51, been employed by the CIA, to have acted as Deputy Chief of Staff at Intelligence Headquarters for the Strategic Air Command (SAC) and still later to have led many intelligence functions at the Pentagon.

The Cordes story is a telling one- and leaves little doubt that what fell from the skies to the desert floor in New Mexico six decades ago was not from Earth. Read more

Map of Plato's Atlantis Carved on Irish Stone?

Is a map of Plato's Atlantis carved on a four-feet granite stone basin in the eastern passage of Knowth?
A four-feet granite stone basin in the Eastern passage of Knowth may be engraved with a map of the city of Atlantis, as Plato described it. The three concentric circles match the three concentric lakes of Atlantis. A copy of the stone is displayed in the Boyne Valley visitor centre.

The similarity was noted by Dr. Ulf Erlingsson, who visited Knowth last month. His book Atlantis from a Geographer’s Perspective: Mapping the Fairy Land will be released in Europe September 30 th (16.95). Plato described an inner island 5 stadia in diameter, surrounded by a circular lake 1 stade wide.

Continuing out, there was a circular island and another lake, each 2 stadia wide. Finally there was another island and lake, each 3 stadia wide. A stade equals 100 fathoms, or 200 yards. Dr Erlingsson suggests in his book that the megalithic yard should be used, which translates to a stade of 166 m. Read more

The Winsted Wild Man

New England has its own version of Bigfoot. Sightings of the Winsted Wild Man began in 1895.
The Winsted Wild Man made his first documented appearance in August of 1895, when the Winsted Herald reported that then Selectman Riley Smith, while traveling to Colebrook, stopped along the road to pick blueberries, accompanied by his bulldog. The dog became frightened of something, and ran to Smith, whining and cowering.

A bit later, Smith related, an extra-large buck-nekkid man, covered with thick black hair jumped out of the bushes, yelling like crazy, and ran for the woods. Riley was understandably a tad disturbed by the interruption to his bucolic little trip. Apparently he never lived it down either.

The next documented appearance of the Wild Man didn’t occur until the 1970s, when two young men, Wayne Hall and David Chapman heard some very strange noises outside one morning in July 1972. Hall described it as a mix of frog and cat snarls and snorts. Read more
