Malicious Cases of Violent Hauntings

Brent Swancer shares accounts of violent hauntings by malicious spirits.
Hauntings of any kind are already scary enough as it is. No one wants to runs into a ghost or other apparition, and even when the paranormal activity itself is rather innocuous it can be a jolting experience that can scare and baffle. Yet some cases take it all up a notch, to evolve into something far beyond just creepy or eerie, to become infused with violence and malicious intent, and launch themselves into the realm of truly scary encounters. Here is a selection of some of the most intense and violent sinister hauntings there are, involving paranormal forces reaching out with intent to harm and maim. Read more

10 Truly Creepy Demonic Hauntings

Benjamin Welton shares ten accounts of truly creepy demonic hauntings.
Most paranormal investigators will tell you that there are several different types of hauntings. Residual hauntings tend to be benign because the ghosts in question reenact their memories from life without interacting with the world around them. Intelligent hauntings and poltergeist activity are scarier because the entities recognize and interact with the humans around them. Few of these interactions are positive.

That doesn't mean that they don't exist, so it by the same token we can't dismiss the existence of the supernatural either, right? Probably. We don't know, we're not Brian Cox. Science is hard. (We got a C at GCSE). Read more

Poltergeist Communication

As if throwing objects around weren't bad enough, some accounts indicate that poltergeists can also communicate audibly.
Several years ago, a reader asked me about poltergeists and if these entities had the ability to use audible communication. There were a few modern reports, but I wasn't sure if these were exaggerations produced by the witnesses. So I decided to look over some of the prominent historical cases and post a few that exhibit authenticity even though the commentary may be a bit folksy. I offer my opinion at the end of the post: Read more
