Angry Haitian Mobs Lynch 45 "Witches" over Cholera Outbreak

This is just sad - both the cholera epidemic and people's reaction to it. This sounds similar to the witch hunts during the Middle Ages when people blamed their neighbors for their problems and afflictions.
Angry Haitian mobs have lynched at least 45 people in recent weeks, accusing them of spreading a cholera outbreak that has killed over 2,500 people across the country, officials said Wednesday.

The number included at least 14 suspected sorcerers previously known to have been lynched in the far southwestern region of Grand'Anse as local people feared they were spreading cholera with a magical substance. The area has been largely spared by the outbreak. Read more
I get emails occasionally from readers who are convinced that witches are tormenting them. I always ask if they know any witches, and if they do, whether they have done something to them. So far I haven't gotten an answer.

Some witches and sorcerers do perform revenge magic against people who have wronged them. However, in my opinion, magic and witchcraft take too much time and effort to waste on random malevolence. Unless you have harmed or offended a witch, you should look elsewhere for the cause of your problems.

What Happens at Exorcism School?

At a recent exorcism conference in Baltimore, Maryland, bishops and priests discussed demons, devils, and the need for proper exorcism training.
The exorcism conference was closed-door. The October conference, in Baltimore, Maryland, preceding a conference of US Catholic bishops, was attended by 56 bishops and 66 priests. The bishops were the novelty. There is a small annual conference on exorcism, but only a few priests attend. The conference focused on the details of the rite of exorcism, and "the reality of demonic manifestations in our society", a participant said.

While all Catholic priests can theoretically perform exorcism, very few American priests are trained to do so. The conference, intended to remedy the shortfall, was organised by Bishop Thomas Paprocki, chair of the Bishops' committee on canonical affairs and church governance. "I thought it went well," he said. "We had lots of bishops, and lots of priests." Read more

Skinwalker Chronicles

The belief that malevolent witches are capable of transforming themselves into animals is ancient and widespread. In the American Southwest, they were called Skinwalkers.
In the American Southwest, the Navajo, Hopi, Utes, and other tribes each have their own version of the Skinwalker story, but basically they boil down to the same thing - a malevolent witch capable of transforming itself into a wolf, coyote, bear, bird, or any other animal. To the Navajo, yee naaldlooshii is "with it, he goes on all fours", a practitioner of Frenzy Way. The witch might wear the hide or skin of the animal identity it wants to assume, and when the transformation is complete, the human witch inherits the speed, strength, or cunning of the animal whose shape it has taken. Red-Eyed Men: Creepy Encounters around the World

As if black-eyed kids weren't scary enough, now red-eyed men are being reported around the world.
If you were walking down the street and encountered a man with ‘glowing red eyes’ what would you do? Start to dial 911 then imagine the response from the operator before you punch in the numbers. An operator who will ask if you’re under psychiatric care? Or, a man with glowing red eyes floating down a street? Luckily for the villagers in Chile who witnessed the man, parapsychologists were called in to investigate extremely unusual poltergeist activity occurring at one of the villager’s home. The woman in the U.K. who saw the man with glowing red eyes walking down the street was ‘so shocked she couldn’t talk’. She decided she couldn’t tell anyone for fear of being labeled ‘insane’. A third encounter, an ‘evil’ shadow man with bright blood red eyes who appeared in a 12-yr-old boy’s room. The boy, when he was 18, posted online what occurred.

There’s a website in South America, Inexplicata-The Journal of Hispanic Ufology, which has numerous fascinating posts including the latest in UFO reports and Reports of strange creatures including the ‘Hopping Phantom of Calchin’: Read more

First Ghost Story Ever Recorded in the U.S.?

The experience of a New Castle, New Hampshire, family in 1682 may be the first ghost story ever recorded in the U.S.
Maine’s close, but believe it or not, the first ghost story recorded belongs to the Granite State. All the way back in 1682 is when a New Castle, New Hampshire family experienced some interesting activity that made them move out of their house, and it even followed them there too!

The documented account takes place in 1682 in the small town of New Castle, when, even as it is today, was the smallest town in New Hampshire. A family named the Walton’s woke up one morning to the sound of heavy rain. Thinking this was strange they soon realized it sounded like the house was being hit by stones. Rowdy kids? You’d think so, but more like rowdy poltergeists.

The family went outside and realized that the house was being pelted by stones, but by unseen hands as it was practically falling out of the sky. Some were small others were big enough to cause some serious damage if they were to hit anyone, but they were falling from the sky like rain, but elsewhere it was nothing, but just an ordinary spring day. As if the pure astonishment of it raining stones outside was strange it was even more odd that it was raining stones INSIDE the house as well! What was going on?

Are the Marfa Lights Bio-Luminescent Predators?

A cryptozoologist claims that the Marfa Lights may actually be bio-luminescent predators.
Are the For generations, the mystery lights of Marfa, Texas, have entertained residents with their strange dancing. On some warmer nights, a ball of light seems to split into two, which will separate and fly away from each other before turning around and flying back together. They have recently been linked to flying lights in the southwest Pacific, lights that natives of Papua New Guinea testify are from large flying creatures.

In southwest Texas, local residents have speculated about dancing devils or ghosts. Scientists have preferred something along the lines of ball lightning or earthlights, but all their scientific explanations have tripped over the resemblances to line dancing. If atmospheric energies or tectonic stresses cause the displays, why do two lights horizontally separate for a long distance before coming back together?

Now a cryptozoologist from California has explained the dancing lights of Marfa. Tales of spooks may hold a spark of truth, for recent research implies intelligence directs the lights: Bioluminescent flying predators may be hunting at night and catching a few unlucky Big Brown Bats: Eptesicus fuscus. How Skeptics Turn a Blind Eye to Psi

Heretical Notions asks why reports of positive results for psi experiments, even by respected researchers in high-profile journals, are ignored by mainstream science.
I’ve been away from this issue for a long while, but after the recent media flurry over Cornell psychologist Daryl Bem’s results, I thought I’d spend some time re-organizing my thoughts on it all.

First, as a sort of starting guidepost: Any branch of science, even mainstream modern “Science” broadly defined, has its own culture with its own relatively inelastic ways of seeing – and not seeing. Psi happens to be one of the many things that Science does not see; and in a sense, that’s not even remarkable, because for us humans, with our young civilization and small brains, probably most of the universe lies in our blind spots. We should be grateful for what we do see!

On the other hand, psi isn’t an advanced, yet-to-be-discovered phenomenon. It belongs to a rejected past, not to an inaccessible future. Parapsychology was once a very active branch of Science, with a literature that was full of positive and seemingly repeatable results. So the important question here is not, Why doesn’t Science see psi? but rather, How did Science come to unsee psi? Read more

The Strange Cases of Half Cat Mutilations

Chris Holly examines the strange cases of half cat mutilations. Linda Moulton Howe has reported on these many times on Dreamland with Whitley Strieber. To me, the half cat mutilations are much more disturbing than cattle mutilations, as gruesome and strange as those are.
Recently a reader sent me his concerns about the ongoing mutilations of cats that are found all over North America. I am not sure if this phenomenon is world wide as I have only read reports concerning my area of the world.

I know that cats are often targets of malicious humans and slaughtered for many reasons ranging from fun to using them as a meat source and eating them. I remembered when I was a child a demented young man in my town was found to have a entire cat torture camp set up in the woods. He would catch the cats in the area and take them to this camp he built deep in the dense woods and torture the poor animals to death. When his camp was found the local police discovered hundreds of dead animals hanging from dozens of trees in this twisted bizarre camp. Read more

Crop Circles: Fake or For Real?

How can we distinguish between faked and real crop circles? Simple, this site suggests: look for features that one type possesses that the other doesn't.
... So how do we go about differentiating between the faked and the 'for real' thing? Simple, we look for features that one type possesses that the other doesn't.

For instance, a great many 'faked' crop circles feature plank marks that cut directly across the lie (near enough at a right angle) of the trampled plant stems. Easy enough for anyone to spot. Genuine circles never possess this feature.

The more telling details, however, come from examinations of genuine circles. Read more

Spacetime Cloak May Make Time Travel Possible

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. - Arthur C. Clarke

New research suggests that a "spacetime cloak" may make time travel possible.
A 'spacetime cloak' may be straight out of science fiction, but some day it might permit time travel or change history. A 'cloaked' individual could, for instance, travel from one place to another while appearing to vanish and appear instantaneously in a new location.

The device would speed up and slow down light to give the illusion that events have just not happened, according to the Journal of Optics. For instance, a scientifically-savvy thief with access to technology could open a safe, empty its contents, and escape right under the watchful eye of a surveillance camera, reports the Daily Mail. Precognition May Exist, Cornell Study Finds

Psychic precognition may exist,  a Cornell study finds.
Prof. Emeritus Daryl Bem, psychology, recently made some discoveries in the field of precognition that have given support to the psychics among us.

Titled “Feeling the Future,” Bem’s paper will be published in next month’s issue of The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. The research discussed focuses on the concepts of precognition, or consciously predicting the future, and premonition, having knowledge of events to come. These are both features of a concept that Bem and other psychologists call “psi,” more commonly known as “psychic.” Read more

Should We Be More Skeptical of Paranormal Skeptics?

Should we be more skeptical of paranormal skeptics? Greg Taylor says we should because some of them are not truly "skeptics." They are biased debunkers masquerading as objective investigators.
The modern skeptical ‘movement’ has grown and thrived in recent years to the point where the public generally views self-appointed ‘skeptics’ as arbiters of the truth and defenders of rational thought. But how much of what they say can we really trust as being objective truth? Are self-described skeptics championing critical thinking, or are they simply defending one particular worldview? The late Marcello Truzzi came to think so: despite being the co-founding chairman of the influential skeptical group CSICOP (the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal), Truzzi soon became disillusioned with the organization, saying they “tend to block honest inquiry, in my opinion… Most of them are not agnostic toward claims of the paranormal; they are out to knock them.” Truzzi claimed that by using the title of ‘skeptic’, biased debunkers had claimed an authority that they were not entitled to, opining that “critics who take the negative rather than an agnostic position but still call themselves ‘skeptics’ are actually pseudo-skeptics and have, I believed, gained a false advantage by usurping that label.” Should we be more skeptical of the skeptics?
Taylor says that one skeptic of whom we should be particularly skeptical is the late Martin Gardner. He cites Gardner's false and misleading article on trance medium Leonora Piper as an example.
... Gardner states ‘facts’ which are not just debatable, but completely the opposite to what can be found in the primary sources. He says of Mrs. Piper’s trances that they “never occurred spontaneously”, despite Fred Myers stating in his report that “[T]he trance has occasionally appeared when it was not desired.” Also, says Gardner, “they never began when she was alone or asleep”. Again, from the same page of the same primary source: “the access has several times come upon her during sleep.” Further, according to Gardner, “whenever a sitter paid for a séance, she had no difficulty going into a trance.” At this point we might assume that Gardner wasn’t too familiar with Fred Myers’ report on Mrs. Piper, as it continues (yet again on the same page): “These trances cannot always be induced at pleasure. A state of quiet expectancy or ‘self-suggestion’ will usually bring one on; but sometimes the attempt altogether fails.” And in case Gardner missed Myers’ statements, a rebuttal can be also be found on page 1(!) of probably the most important primary source concerning Mrs. Piper’s mediumship, Richard Hodgson’s report in Volume VIII of the Proceedings of the SPR: “Several times Mrs. Piper was unable to go into trance at all.”  Read more

Abducted by the Fairies?

Dr. Raul Rios Centeno is a UFO investigator based in Lima, Peru, whose investigative efforts take him to the remote areas of his Andean homeland, where the indigenous people still speak Quechua rather than Spanish.. He shares a story told to him by a villager about a fairy abduction.
Spirited Away?

"I myself never believed in such things, doctor. Even now, I don't know what to think." These were the words with which don Modesto Salas, a Piuran farmer in the town of Catacaos, began his story. His small farm is located some 2 km SE of Catacaos. He lives off his crops and a few animals he raises. The region's heat and its proximity to the Equator -- only some 220 kms away -- causes the well-known algarrobos trees, mangroves and banana plants to grow. Modesto has lived for almost ten years with Ms. Olva Vandilla, with whom he has three children: Manuel José, 9, Olga Luzmila, 7, and the missing Evelyn Rosario, who would have been five years old next April. Despite the strong customs which reign in the Peruvian localities in which the Catholic Church still preserves its predominance -- although there are numerous sects and "new churches" which have attracted followers for reasons we shall not discuss here -- Modesto and Olga never married. They don't believe it necessary to sign a contract that they may someday find has expired. They prefer to live together "for no other reason, doctor." Read more

Is Past Life Regression Doable?

Discovering their past lives sounds intriguing to many people, but is this practice doable?
When there is certainly enough reports on record that go back to bolster the theories of reincarnation, how and where can we deny them? Therefore we're left with utterly no choice other than to believe that we did live life at an earlier time once and that we did pass on and get into this current life. There are specific theories that additionally express that what we are in this life could be the karma or the outcomes of our previous births. Given this information, then is it not quite surprising that each and every one of us is eager to know what we were during our previous lives - but is this practically doable? Read more

Does Bigfoot Live Underground?

Is Bigfoot a subterranean species? If it is, that could explain why they are not spotted more often and are able to vanish so easily.
Could Bigfoots spend a significant portion of their lives underground and only surface briefly when a few lucky people see them or capture glimpses of them on video? It would certainly explain why we don't see them during the coldest months in the most northern regions and it migth explain how they "vanish" so easily -- they know where the nearest cave entrance is, and we don't. and v

Possible Correlations to Bigfoot and Other Subterranean Species:

Bigfoots have "night vision": or can see a wider spectrum of light. This is true of other subterranean species and necessary in dark caves.

Eyeshine: might also be a way of communicating non-verbally in the darkness of caves. Is it friend or foe? The color of the eyes would tell a Bigfoot underground what's ahead. Read more

Time Traveler in 1920 Charlie Chaplin Footage?

Filmmaker George Clarke has spotted something unusual in some "behind the scenes" footage of  Charlie Chaplin's 1920 film The Circus. In the brief clip, a woman walks into frame talking while holding a small, thin device up to her ear. If the film were made today, we would assume she was talking on a cell phone, but this is 1920. Clarke thinks that the woman is a time traveler, but if the device is a cell phone, to whom would she be talking?

Air Force Academy Now Welcomes Pagans

Finding enough recruits to fight America's endless wars must be getting tougher. The U.S. Air Force Academy, which not long ago discriminated against non-Christians, is now welcoming pagans.
Just a few years ago, the Air Force Academy was considered such an evangelical hothouse that the place got sued for its alleged discrimination against non-Christians. Today, the Academy is boasting of its thriving pagan community — and its friendliness towards spell-casters.

In a press release issued Thursday, the Academy features Tech. Sgt. Brandon Longcrier (pictured), “the lay leader for the Academy’s Earth-Centered Spirituality community, which includes Wiccans and Pagans from various traditions.” (It’s part of a larger effort by the school to promote an image of tolerance.) Are Ghosts and Shadow People One and the Same?

Are ghosts and shadow people one and the same? Paranormal researchers disagree.
Shadow people are paranormal shadow-like creatures that people usually see in their peripheral vision. Reports suggest that they do not appear to reflect light and that their appearance is essentially a silhouette in black.

They usually have no discernible features beyond the general outline of their form. However, shadow people have been reported to have shifted into a more human form and in these instances it is said that sometimes features such as glowing eyes and sometimes mouths or nostrils are discernible.

Reports of shadow people, sometimes called shadow folk, shadow men, or shadow beings, have many similarities with ghost sightings, so many similarities that many paranormal experts consider ghost and shadow people one and the same.

However, other experts disagree and claim that shadow people are a separate phenomenon from ghosts for a variety of reasons. Read more

Kentucky Goblin Encounter

The Kelly-Hopkinsville Kentucky "goblins" encounter, which took place back in the 1950s, seems to be an unexplained UFO case. The goblins resemble the Greys mentioned in Whitley Strieber's books.
On the night of August 21, 1955, two Kentucky families claimed to have fought unknown beings. In a rural area of Kentucky, near Hopkinsville and Kelly, two families contend they battled extraterrestrial creatures. The event happened around the Sutton farmhouse, where the Suttons and the Taylors gathered for dinner. At some point during the evening, Billy Ray Taylor went outside to draw water from the well.

Taylor witnessed a huge, bright object land in the woods about a quarter of a mile from the house. He started towards the house with the water when he saw a strange creature approaching. Billy Ray dropped the bucket and ran into the house. Both he and Lucky Sutton picked up firearms and ran back outside. Taylor fired his .22 caliber rifle and Lucky fired his shotgun but neither weapon had any effect on the creature. Read more

UFO Sightings by Astronauts

Most people interested in UFOs know that astronauts have seen them. What they may not know is how many astronauts have seen UFOs.  At least ten astronauts have reported UFO sightings. Below is an excerpt from Major Gordon Cooper's story:
Major Gordon Cooper

One of the original Mercury Astronauts and the last American to fly in space alone. On May 15, 1963 he shot into space in a Mercury capsule for a 22 orbit journey around the world. During the final orbit, Major Gordon Cooper told the tracking station at Muchea (near Perth Australia) that he could see a glowing, greenish object ahead of him quickly approaching his capsule. The UFO was real and solid, because it was picked up by Muchea's tracking radar. Cooper's sighting was reported by the National Broadcast Company, which was covering the flight step by step; but when Cooper landed, reporters were told that they would not be allowed to question him about the UFO sighting. 7 Tips to Get Rid of a Ghost

Scott Petullo says he has over fourteen years of clearing ghosts from homes and freeing people and disembodied souls. He offers seven tips to get rid of a ghost..
After over 14 years of clearing ghosts from homes and freeing people from the negative hold of disembodied souls we are convinced that ghosts are a lot more common than people realize. Hollywood has demonized (literally) the phenomenon, but don’t be afraid. In reality, most are more of a nuisance than threat, much like a mosquito, if you know what to do.

Simply put, a ghost is the disembodied soul of someone whose body has died. Instead of going to the “Light,” they remain earthbound.

Ghost hunters on TV do a great job of detecting paranormal activity, but they usually don’t send it to where it needs to go to continue its spiritual evolution: in the Light.

This final step in ghost busting is often overlooked, but is crucial because if it’s not done the ghost will continue to cause problems for itself and others. Read more

How Ghosts, Superstitions, and Vampires Jave Been Used for Psychological Warfare

The U.S. military has used ghosts, superstitions, and vampires for psychological warfare operations, documents reveal.
Military psy ops aren't limited to leaflets, propaganda broadcasts, and Korean pop music. In the past, the US military has played on their opponent superstitions of vampires, ghosts, and astrology. Here are some strange examples.

In World War II, US forces exploited the Nazi's predilection to put stock in superstitions and the occult. The Rand Corporation's 1950 memorandum "The Exploitation of Superstitions for Purposes of Psychological Warfare" details how pseudoscience connoisseur Joseph Goebbels counteracted Allied attempts to strike fear into the superstitious strata of the German population: Read more

Ghosts and the Phenomenon of "Looped Time" Anomalies

Discovering the secret of how time can be looped upon itself could provide humanity with a pathway to the stars.
An entirely new type of physics is being played out—literally before our eyes and ears, yet few scientists bother to investigate the evidence.

The physics of time (and its relationship to space and the quantum reality) may be better understood by determining the underlying nature of the auditory and visual anomalies that cross the boundaries into our space-time during regular or irregular intervals. The phenomenon points to aberrations of time exhibited as ‘time loops.’

Throughout history these snippets of looped time have been lumped together with unassociated phenomena under the general heading of ghosts. Read more

Is This the Flatwoods Monster?

One of the most famous "monster" cases associated with a UFO occurred in 1952, in Braxton County, West Virginia.
There can be few very people within the realms of cryptozoology and ufology that have never heard of the so-called Flatwoods Monster, or Braxton County Monster, of 1952 - a story that is told in-depth in Frank Feschino's 2004 book, The Braxton County Monster: the Cover-Up of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed.

And as Feschino notes in his book: "On the night of September 12, 1952, a shocked American public sought answers when strange unidentified objects were seen flying through the sky over Washington, DC, and the eastern United States..." Read more

Witchcraft: Toad Familiar

Since ancient times, toads have been associated with evil. In medieval and later times, toads were thought to be Satanic creatures. It therefore comes as no surprise that toads are intrinsically linked with witches.

St. Expedite: A Spirit That Gets Things Done in a Hurry!

Sometimes we need magical help fast - not a week from now, not a month from now, but right away. In that case, St. Expedite is the spirit to call upon. Moloch explains how to call upon St. Expedite and also lists his correspondences. (The more of these you can use, the stronger your prayer.) You don't have to be Catholic to petition St.Expedite.
... St. Expedite is not associated with any other Spirit or Saint. The legend goes that back in 1798, a group of nuns from Paris received a crate with the words "spedito" stamped on the side, meaning rush with haste. At that time, when statues and relics of saints were shipped, the name of the saint would be written on the side of the crate, thus St. Joseph would have "Joseph" & St. Francis would naturally have "Francis" on the side and so on. When the nuns opened the crate they found the beautiful statue of a saint. There was no other paperwork or anything else about him included, not even where the package originated from. Only the word "spedito" on the side. Taking this as a Divine Sign, the nuns quickly installed the statue and named him, "St. Expedito", or St. Expedite.

St. Expedite is prayed to when your prayers need to be "rushed" or sent "with haste" to God. He's also called upon for: Read more

Witnesses: Person Falls from Sky, Then Vanishes

Several witnesses in New Jersey reported seeing a person falling from the sky with no parachute, but an extensive police search turned up no evidence of a missing skydiver
Several people in New Jersey claimed they saw a person falling from the sky with no parachute, but an extensive police search has turned up no evidence, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Witness Kelly Hale and two of her co-workers at Shore Veterinarians in Egg Harbor Township said they watched from their office windows as a human fell head-first from the sky on Tuesday.

But there were no reports of missing skydivers.

"I [saw] the guy falling, at an angle, like this," Hale told NBC Philadelphia while gesturing. "Straight down. No parachute. No paraglider."

Authorities were still investigating the incident, Egg Harbor police told msnbc.com on Thursday. Read more

7 of the Strangest Human Enigmas

Stephen Wagner relates seven of the strangest stories of people with unknown origins, fates, or unexplained abilities
Most kids love reading the color funny papers on Sundays. As a kid, one of my favorite strips was "Ripley's Believe It or Not." It always featured some fantastic facts or coincidences. Often it would tell of people with unusual abilities, characteristics, or circumstances: a man with a birthmark in the shape of a perfect heart on his chest; a woman whose head was shaped like a Ming vase; twins with six ears between them. Stuff like that.

It makes interesting reading and, of course, I'm still fascinated by such amazing tales. Here are 7 of the strangest stories of most mysterious people of unknown origin, fate or astonishing, unexplained abilities. Read more

Is David Boreanaz Living in a Haunted House?

Actpr David Boreanz and his wife Jamie Bergman are having trouble sleeping in their Los Angeles home. It seems that their bed moves in the middle of the night.
It's a little ironic that David Boreanaz plays the master of the mysterious in roles like a bloodsucker on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and in the spin-off show Angel. He currently stars as FBI agent Seeley Booth on the crime drama Bones. You'd think it would take a lot for him to get creeped out.

But the 41-year-old and his wife Jaime Bergman got a scare when they moved into a cozy home in Los Angeles earlier this summer with their two children, Jaden, 7, and Bella, 1. It didn't take long for them to realize that they may have more company in the house then when they first counted. Read more

All About Shadow People: Creepy Phantoms of the Dark

There's a growing interest in the phenomenon of shadow people. What are they? Ghosts? Interdimensional beings? Time travelers? Something else?
"WHAT WAS THAT?" You were sitting comfortably on your sofareading the latest issue of FATE in the dim light when movement across the room caught your attention. It seemed dark and shadowy, but there was nothing there. You returned to your reading - and a moment later there it was again. You looked up quickly this time and saw the fleeting but distinctly human shape of the shadow pass quickly over the far wall... and disappear.

What was that? Some natural shadow? Your heightened imagination? A ghost? Or was it something that seems to be a spreading phenomenon - apparitions that are coming to be known as "shadow people" or "shadow beings." Perhaps this is an old phenomenon with a new name that is now being discussed more openly, in part thanks to the Internet. Or maybe it's a phenomenon that, for some reason, is manifesting with greater frequency and intensity now.

Those who are experiencing and studying the shadow people phenomenon say that these entities almost always used to be seen out of the corner of the eye and very briefly. But more and more, people are beginning to see them straight on and for longer periods of time. Some experiencers testify that they have even seen eyes, usually red, on these shadow beings. Scientific DNA Proof of Bigfoot May Be Only Months Away

So far the evidence for Bigfoot has been videos and eyewitness accounts, but could scientific DNA proof be coming soon?
... Now David Paulides of North American Bigfoot Search.com and the author of Tribal Bigfoot
has been busy collecting bone and hair samples of purported various Bigfoot. His research has led him into DNA evaluation of these samples and he reports on Coast to Cosast AM that results are very promising so far.

In fact, Paulides and highly respected DNA expert Dr. Melba S. Ketchum have found that some samples appear to have both human and animal characteristics. However, the research is ongoing.

Dr. Ketchum believes that very shortly she will have the final conclusions to the DNA testing. Then the results will be submitted for peer review in scientific journals and an announcement will be made. Read more

Pole Shift and Pole Reversal in 2012

Patrick Geryl says he bases his prediction that a pole reversal will take place in 2012 on hieroglyphs, cracking of codes, the magnetic reversal of the sun, old maps, astronomical clues, geological research, and the discovery of the most exciting archaeological find in modern times.
In 2012 the next polar reversal will take place on earth. This means that the North Pole will be changed into the South Pole. Scientifically this can only be explained by the fact that the earth will start rotating in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions.

In my books I reveal the immense cataclysm that is going to torment the earth in the near future. It is presently assumed by most people and the general scientific world at large, that the rotation of the Earth is stable, however, as expounded in my previous works on this subject, this is not the case. The gruesome reports of the previous catastrophes should, hopefully, be clear to all.

The historical exploration of cosmology in previous books is founded on the translation of hieroglyphs, cracking of codes, unveiling of the magnetic reversal of the sun, study of old maps, decoding of astronomical clues, geological research, and the discovery of the most exciting archaeological find in modern times.

Considering these I came to the following conclusions: Read more

UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Talk about What They Know

The Huffington Post excerpts some of the most riveting accounts of unexplained UFO sightings from a new book UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record.
The subject of UFOs -- of intense interest to the general public -- is no longer something that reputable journalists will feel they need to avoid or dismiss as silly. Popular culture has distorted the facts about this compelling mystery, and a new book sets the record straight. "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record" (Harmony Books / The Crown Publishing Group) by journalist Leslie Kean pulls back the curtain on the incredible occurrences of unexplained behavior by unknown objects over many decades.

"UFOs" includes a foreword by John Podesta and riveting, first-person accounts written by over a dozen military and aviation witnesses and official investigators from around the world. Contributors include a former governor of Arizona, the former head of the FAA's Accidents and Investigations Division, military generals from five countries, a retired senior research scientist from NASA, Air Force and commercial pilots, and government officials from agencies investigating UFOs in their respective countries. The Wicked Witches of the West

Witches are making mischief in rural Wales, according to residents. These accounts remind me a little of the "satanic ritual abuse" hysteria, which gripped the U.S. until the FBI finally issued a report that they hadn't been able to verify a single case.
Witches could be stalking the streets of rural Wales – if calls to Dyfed Powys Police are to be believed.

The force, which covers Mid and West Wales, has received 86 reports of witches in the last five years.

The force’s police incident log reveals details of the calls. One caller reported “that one individual is a witch and had attended at the house to put salt around the bed”.

A caller in January last year claimed he had been fed a “fur ball” during a witchcraft ritual. Read more

The Mystery of the Jersey Devil

The Jersey Devil is believed by some to be a mythical creature and by others, a real-life monster of flesh and blood. Its origins date back to when New Jersey was still a British colony.
The historic states along America’s Atlantic Seaboard have given birth to hundreds of ghostly tales and unusual stories over the years. One of the strangest is undoubtedly that of the Jersey Devil, a creature that is believed by some to be a mythical creature and by others, a real-life monster of flesh and blood. Its origins date back to when New Jersey was still a British colony.

According to the legend, Mrs. Jane Leeds came from a poor family who eked out an existence in the Pine Barrens of Jersey, a rugged place with vast forests, sandy soil and patches of swamp. In 1735, Mrs. Leeds discovered that she was pregnant with her 13th child. She complained to her friends and relatives that the “Devil can take the next one”, and he did. When the baby was born, he was monster! He immediately took on a grotesque appearance and grew to more than 20 feet long, with a reptilian body, a horse’s head, bat wings and a long, forked tail. He thrashed about the Leeds home for a bit and then vanished up the chimney. The creature, or the “Jersey Devil” as he was dubbed, began haunting the Pine Barrens. Read more

5 UFO Sightings That Even Non-Crazy People Find Creepy.

Most UFO sightings are simply misidentified flying objects: planets, meteors, aircraft, etc. Some are hoaxes. A few truly can't be explained. Of those that remain explained, Cracked.com explores five UFO sightings "that even non-crazy people find creepy."
If you want to research UFO sightings, we hope you like bullshit. Because you're about to be drowned in sensationalist books and blogs from UFO enthusiasts who declare every blinking light in the sky to be the opening scenes of Independence Day. It's no coincidence that so many people who encounter UFOs also really want to believe in them.

However, buried deep within the U.S. military's own records are some very bizarre, and very well-documented sightings that have to give even a skeptic second thoughts.
Are they aliens? We're not saying that. We're just saying they're really, really weird. Read more

How to Make a Witch’s Bottle for Protection

Many people say, "I don't need protection. I don't have any enemies." However, it's possible for the nicest person to have enemies. Some people may be jealous of you, misunderstand you, or just dislike the way you dress or style your hair! They may be as sweet as pie to your face, but be bitterly jealous or angry behind your back. How do you protect yourself against negative energy that you don't even know about?

The best way to deal with this is a "witch's bottle." Witch's bottles, also known as charm bottles, are commonly used in spellwork for protection against negative energy. The goal is to protect yourself and at the same time, send back whatever is being sent at you. This is an ancient method of self-defense, known throughout folklore.

Items needed:
A small glass jar with lid
Sharp, rusty items such as nails, razor blades, bent pins, broken glass
Black pepper
Sea salt
Your own urine
Black candle
Red felt tip marker

Fill the jar with the items listed above (except for the black candle and red felt tip marker) and seal tightly. On the top of the lid, draw a pentagram with the red felt tip marker. Place the black candle on the lid of the jar and light it. Chant the following over the candle:
Candle of black and hexes old,
Release the powers that you hold.
Reverse the flow of spells once cast.
Leave pain and sorrow in the past.
Let the candle burn out. Take the jar and bury it in the earth close to your home. The witch's bottle will protect you and your family from harm for about six months. Making a new witch's bottle twice a year at a set time is a good practice to follow.

Von Daniken’s Mistake

Doug Yurchey says that Erich Von Daniken made a crucial mistake when he developed his "ancient astronauts" theory: Von Daniken was right that the Egyptians had help building the pyramids, but, according to Yurchey, it wasn't aliens who helped. It was Atlanteans.
This writer (Yurchey), which once strongly embraced the idea that aliens account for the fantastic enigmas and grand achievements in prehistory, realized that the true answer was even more incredible. The mistake made by proponents of the ’Ancient Astronaut’ hypothesis is they diminish the phenomenal stonework created by the human race with advanced equipment. A. A. theorists denigrate what our ancestors achieved by unbelievable, technical means.

Von Daniken must maintain early humankind was primitive and that archeology books are ’right on the money’ for his viewpoint to ring true. If we were primitive during the so-called ’Stone Age,’ then the construction of pyramids, cutting and transporting huge monoliths would be impossible. We would need ’help’ and ’assistance.’ Since so many pyramids and alignments of great megaliths indicate/incorporate vast astronomical knowledge, then it is sensible that we have been visited in the past by extraterrestrials. Guiding Your Sleep While You’re Awake

Everyone dreams every night even if you don't remember what you dream about. But is it possible to control what you dream about?
Nightmares resulting from traumatic events usually fade over time, as the haunting images and terrifying plots become less intense. The dreams may also naturally evolve into what some specialists call “mastery dreams,” in which the dreamer has found a way to ease the pain or horror — say, confronting a rapist or saving someone from a fire.

But when that does not happen of its own accord, many therapists use behavioral interventions to reduce nightmares or guide the waking patient toward having a mastery dream — using the conscious mind to control the wild ways of the unconscious.

Some of these techniques have been in use for years. In one treatment, known as lucid dreaming, patients are taught to become aware that they are dreaming while the dream is in progress. In another, called in vivo desensitization, they are exposed while awake to what may be haunting them in their sleep — for example, a live snake, caged and harmless — until the fear subsides. Both techniques have been researched extensively. Read more

Quantum Time Machine "Allows Paradox-Free Tme Travel"

Quantum physicists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology believe it is possible to create a time machine which could affect the past without creating a "grandfather paradox."
Scientists have for some years been able to 'teleport' quantum states from one place to another. Now Seth Lloyd and his MIT team say that, using the same principles and a further strange quantum effect known as 'postselection', it should be possible to do the same backwards in time. Lloyd told the Technology Review: "It is possible for particles (and, in principle, people) to tunnel from the future to the past." Read more

How to Reverse a Black Magic Spell

Black magic is the negative use of energies and power by jealous and malicious human beings, whose main objective is to harm or deprive others of something, or influence them to do something wrong or harmful. This spell should be cast when someone is using black magic against you. Before casting the spell, make sure that you know that you are being attacked magically and by whom. This should be checked through divination, Once you are positive that a certain person is using black magic against you, begin the spell.

Materials Needed:
  • Spool of black ribbon
  • Poppet (doll) of the person you intend to bind
  • Black pouch made of a tough material such as leather
  • Black candle
  • Water (rain or river water is best)
  • Coal, granite, or some other powerful stone associated with the element of earth
  • Musk incense and incense burner
Time: Waning moon

Place the rock, water, incense, and candle around you to form the points of a square. (Rock being diagonal to incense and water being diagonal to candle). Now sit under the stars and meditate on the impact that this person's negative magic has had on your life. Once you have all of the negative effects in your mind, hold the poppet in your left hand, and slowly, starting at the feet, wrap the poppet in black ribbon, as if it were a mummy. Be sure to leave no spot exposed. As you wrap, chant the following:
With (name's) own evil does s/he her/himself bind,
His/her magic powers s/he shall not find!
As you chant and wrap, visualize all the negativity from the magic that this person has cast flowing into the ribbon that binds the poppet. Once the poppet is totally wrapped, place it in the pouch and draw it shut. Now proclaim in a loud voice:
(Name) has been bound in the presence of the elements and the gods.
May s/he remain as such until this poppet again sees the light of day.
So mote it be!
Store the pouch with the bound poppet in a dark place. If you decide to unbind it, take the pouch into the noon sun of the waxing moon and unwrap the poppet. Visualize the negativity tied in the ribbon disintegrating in the light of the sun. Say the following:
(Name) is now unbound,
A creature of free will in magic and in heart.
So mote it be!

How to Make a Poppet

In folk magic and witchcraft, a poppet is a magical doll used to represent a particular person during spell work and ritual magic. Other names for poppets include voodoo doll, mommet, and fetish. Poppets are one of the most commonly used tools in sympathetic magic, which follows along on the theory that “like creates like." The intention is that whatever actions are performed upon the doll will be transferred to the target. Poppets can be used to harm or to heal, so if you create a poppet of a person, anything done to the poppet will affect the person it represents. A poppet can be used for any spell or ritual in which you need to affect a specific person.

Materials Needed:
Clay or cloth
Personal concerns of the target person
Red candle
Holy water
White linen

Inside the poppet, add anything you find that is personal to the person, such as nail clippings, writing on paper, blood on a Band-Aid, hair left on a brush, etc. Bless all of the items you are using to make your poppet, be it clay or cloth and proceed to make the doll. Get a clear mental image in your mind of the target person while you are making the poppet. To reinforce your concentration, keep repeating the following chant:
(Name), as you I see
(Name) you represent to me.
Continue this chanting and visualization until the poppet is completed. Lay the doll on the altar with a red candle. Place both hands over the poppet and will your energy to flow as you chant 3, 5 or 9 times:
Though separate you are,
You are linked as one.
As (Name) your life has begun.
Pass both sides of the finished poppet through the flame of the red candle saying:
With fire do I consecrate this poppet as (Name).
Sprinkle both sides of the poppet with holy water and say:
With water do I consecrate this poppet as (Name).
Pass both sides of the poppet through the incense smoke as you say:
With air do I consecrate this poppet as (Name).
Keep the poppet wrapped in clean white linen until it is ready to be used in your ritual.

Are World Powers Waiting for Vatican Approval before Full UFO / Alien Disclosure?

Is the Vatican preparing the public for some kind of formal extraterrestrial disclosure announcement?
Back in November 2009, The Vatican completed a five day conference where scientists convened to discuss the detection and implications of extraterrestrial life. The conference itself was officially convened by the Vatican's Pontifical Academy of Sciences, chaired by its religious leader Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, and was held on private Vatican grounds from November 6-10. The Vatican’s openness to discussion of extraterrestrial life is no accident. It is part of an openness policy secretly adopted by the United Nations in February 2008. In fact, the Vatican is playing a leading role in preparing the world for extraterrestrial disclosure. Read more

Mysterious Humanoid Figure Photographed in Argentina

Inexplicata-The Journal of Hispanic Ufology reports that an mysterious humanoid figure was photographed by a businessman in Argentina.
Sebastian Aranguren, writing for the July 12 2010 edition of Diario Popular, discusses an unusual photo of an "invisible humanoid" whose presence was captured only by a digital camera after the waters of Laguna del Monte were inexplicably stirred as if by an external force.

The photo was taken by an anonymous businessman from the city of Almirante Brown. Luis Burgos of the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía and his photo analysis team have determined that it is a "clean" image showing no signs of manipulation. "There are very few photos of humanoids in the world," Burgos is quoted as saying, "and this case acquires major significance in national ufology."

The photo was taken on March 14 of this year -- Easter Sunday -- at 15:56 hours by "Ivan" (surnames withheld) in the company of his wife and children. Read more

A Honey Jar Spell to Sweeten Your Relationship

The Honey Jar Spell may be one of the oldest and most widely known spells in American folk magic. Sweetening spells are used when you want someone to be sweet to you or favor you in some way. The Honey Jar Love Spell will cause your lover to favor your petition, to want to be with you, to be sympathetic to your cause, or to forgive any wrongs you have committed. It can be used very effectively to reconcile with a lover. It helps to eliminate negativity from foolish quarrels. This spell is also very easy for someone new to spells and magic to perform.

Superstitions Bring Real Luck, Study Reveals

Do you have any superstitions? You may feel silly about admitting that you do, but maybe you shouldn't be. A study reveals that superstitions bring real luck!
The next time you cross your fingers or tell someone to break a leg, you may actually be bringing some luck.

Superstitious ways of bringing good luck are found in cultures around the world, and it turns out they may be ubiquitous for a very good reason: To some extent, superstitions work. New research shows that believing in, say, the power of a good luck charm can actually help improve performance in certain situations, even though the charm and event aren't logically linked.

This is what a team of psychologists at the University of Cologne in Germany report in the May issue of the journal Psychological Science. In a series of experiments employing tasks involving memory and motor skills, the scientists studied the effect of behavior and "object superstitions" – which rely on good luck charms – in college students. Top 10 Cryptid Ungulates

Cryptozoology seems to revolve around Sasquatch, yeti, and chupacabra. These scary creatures capture our imaginations, but they are not the only cryptids that are rumored to exist. Loren Coleman lists the top ten cryptid ungulates, or hoofed animals.
The poor brothers and sisters of cryptozoology are the hoofed animals, cryptids that don’t really scare anyone. They are four-legged unknowns that eat plants and, well, just aren’t sexy. But that doesn’t mean we should ignore them.

Here are some basics so we can all start out on the right hoof, I mean, foot. Read more

Secrets of the Hollow Earth

The interior of the Earth, some believe, is home to strange races of technologically advanced beings. Who are they and where are the hidden entrances to their subterranean cities?
Many readers of the paranormal and the unexplained are familiar with the theory that the Earth is hollow. The idea is based on the ancient legends of many cultures that say there are races of people - entire civilizations - that thrive in subterranean cities. Very often, these dwellers of the world beneath are more technologically advanced than we on the surface. Some even believe that UFOs are not from other planets, but are manufactured by strange beings in the interior of the Earth.

Who are these strange races of beings? How did they come to live inside the Earth? And where are the entrances to their underground cities? Read more

EU Call for End of the UFO Coverup

European Union lawmaker Mario Borghezio has called on member governments to open their secret files on UFOs, saying people need to know about close encounters of the third kind.
Mario Borghezio, an Italian member of the European Parliament, said that the EU needed its own "X Files" archive where anyone could see information on UFOs – including data gathered by the military.

Mr Borghezio said all European governments should go public and stop what he called a "systematic cover-up." Read more

Afterlife Stories from Children

One of the more fascinating facts about near-death experiences is that they are sometimes reported by very young children. Here's an interesting short video featuring the near-death experience research of Dr Melvin Morse which focuses on the NDEs of children. There is a haunting and eerie familiarity about them, and yet in some ways they avoid the stereotypes NDEs often contain.

Can You Capture Ghosts and Spirits on Camera?

Paranormal researcher Todd Daigneault says that it is possible to capture ghosts and spirits on camera.
As a multi-decade researcher into the paranormal, I have photographed a number of paranormal photos, starting in 1983 with a pic taken of the ceiling showing a horned head coming through. That same year, I took another photo of a series of pyramids I constructed out of aluminium foil, showing radiant beams coming out of their apexes. In 1986, my camera snapped a photo of my residential sliding door. The flash did not go off for some reason. It became very apparent to me why after I received the developed photo. The image showed beams of radiant light pouring from a ghostly image of a church, with non-human looking faces flying overhead. It included a series of skeletal-looking, human ghosts clustered around it-with human-cellular looking objects, connected by wires or lines, draped over their faces. Each had a distinct human-looking face, including one with glasses. Read more

Is the Singularity Movement a New Materialist Religion?

How anyone can watch our inept efforts to contain the Gulf oil spill and contend that we're on the verge of a "Technological Singularity" is beyond me. The technological advances in the last thirty years simply have not been great enough to make it plausible that we're going to enter a technological utopia within the next thirty years . (As an example, the space shuttle is about thirty years old, and we don't have a technologically superior replacement for it yet.) The Singularity Movement seems to be more about wishful thinking than rational thinking. In fact, The Daily Grail notes that it displays some of the signs of a religious cult.
... Here we can find signs of what I think is the inception of a materialist religion (of sorts), replete with charismatic leaders and transcendence of death. The latter perhaps is a driving force - without the 'crutch' of a religious belief in an afterlife, the Singularity becomes the salvation of the materialist facing their own mortality (this certainly seems to be how it is in Kurzweil's case). An interesting bit of speculation might be to consider the (fringe science) possibility that consciousness lies beyond the brain (a la transmission theory), and that it not only survives death, but is in fact set free from the body by the experience. To borrow an analogy from the mystical literature, could 'Singulatarians' in fact be the equivalent of a caterpillar desperately trying not to be become a butterfly?

The religious parallels in the Singularity movement are, however, not going unnoticed. Read more

Lucid Dreaming and Psychic Abilities

Robert Waggoner explains lucid dreaming, his experiences, and how through the use of lucid dreaming techniques one can achieve "paranormal" abilities, such as telepathy and clairvoyance.

Robert Waggoner is the author of the recently released book, Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self . An experienced lucid dreamer for more than thirty years, he has logged approximately one thousand lucid dreams. Waggoner is also President-elect of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.

Could you describe to the people not familiar with Lucid Dreaming what it means?

When you consciously realize you are dreaming, while in the dream state, you are lucid dreaming. So, lucid dreaming requires conscious awareness of dreaming while in the dream. Normally it occurs after a sudden insight like noticing an impossible event, and you realize, “This is a dream! Read more

Bigfoot Discovered? Virginia Man Says He's on Verge of Bigfoot Discovery

Sasquatch expert Billy Willard says he's on the verge of Bigfoot discovery.
Billy Willard says he's on the verge of a major discovery that could change the way humans think about the natural world, not to mention their need for a creature-proof home security system.

Here in Spotsylvania County, in the forests around Lake Anna, Willard claims there have been 14 sightings in the past decade of that most fabled of cryptozoic beasts: Bigfoot.

Or Sasquatch , as the elusive, apelike brute is referred to in more high-minded circles -- and on the side of Willard's blue pickup. The decal on the truck reads "Sasquatch Watch of Virginia," of which Willard is chief pooh-bah (when he's not earning a living installing and removing underground home oil tanks). Read more

Top 10 Cryptozoological Creatures That Have Yet to Be Exploited in Film and Television

Ten lesser known beasts exist in folklore, urban legends, and unverifiable accounts and have yet to be exploited on film or television, but should be.
Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the Jersey Devil and El Chupacabra are among the most famous cryptids - mysterious creatures people claim exist but have yet to be proven by science (and let's face it, probably will never be). They've gotten their fair share of screen time on TV and in the movies, as the possibility of their existence is a natural thrill for the human imagination. Even lesser known beasts that exist more in folklore, urban legends and unverifiable accounts like the Thunderbird, the Dover Demon and the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp (a Creature from the Black Lagoon wannabe) have gotten the limelight in shows like Secret Saturdays and Lost Tapes. The following 10 creatures have yet to be exploited on film or television (to our knowledge), but should be! Read more
