Roswell has finally been solved, and truth is even stranger than you could believe.

Roswell has been at the heart of the UFO scene since July 1947 when the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the "crashed craft", which along with the wreckage were then taken to a top-secret military base.

It has remained the most infamous UFO conspiracy theory ever since.

Roswell Revelation: Astronaut Saw Bodies of Dead Aliens in Video Footage

A NASA astronaut watched footage of the Roswell UFO crash and said he saw bodies of dead aliens, according to a colleague.

The late Lt Col Ellison Onizuka, who died in the 1986 Challenger space shuttle explosion, told his claims about the world’s most famous and unexplained UFO case to colleague Clark C McClelland.

A new FBI memo suggests that there may have been THREE crashes at Roswell, NewMexico.

A UFO museum that opened in Japan in 1994 was apparently the subject of Federal Bureau of Investigation scrutiny when it opened, according to recent Freedom of Information Access requests.

Employees at Hakui Centre for UFO Research came across what is known as the Hottel Memo while preparing a library of over 10,000 documents, that were to be the main attraction of the museum. The file -- which has otherwise been available since 1970 -- has come to light again, after further FOIA requests have uncovered that the FBI had opened a new investigation in the mid-nineties, over concerns regarding what other information might have been revealed by the Hakui Centre's exhibit. About Those Missing Roswell Files

Nick Redfern says that the issue of the missing Roswell files is undeniably interesting and deeply worthy of further study, scrutiny, and investigation.

On July 28, 1995, the General Accounting Office's report on the Roswell affair surfaced from its National Security and International Affairs Division. And although the GAO's report did not provide any smoking-guns - or, rather, any old B&W photos of dead bodies and wreckage at the crash-site on the Foster Ranch, New Mexico - it did provide something interesting and controversial. And it's something that has been misinterpreted for years.

During the course of their search for records to try and better understand what had taken place at Roswell in early July 1947, the GAO learned that the entire outgoing messages from Roswell Army Air Field generated during the period that the event occurred were missing, and under circumstances that could not be fully determined and proved.

This, inevitably and very understandably, led certain Roswell researchers to proclaim that this was evidence of a significant event of UFO proportions having occurred, and which certain elements of officialdom were determined to keep forever hidden from the populace, the media, and the UFO research community - and possibly, even, from anyone else in government who might dare to come looking, such as investigators of the GAO.

And, maybe, that's precisely what happened.

Roswell Debris Proven to Be Extraterrestrial

No one knows how much debris was picked up and kept by the first people to stumble upon the 1947 crash of a UFO in Roswell, New Mexico, but debris from the crash continues to be discovered. Frank Kimbler, a New Mexico high school geology teacher, found some pieces of debris and had them tested. He says the test proved that the debris was extraterrestrial.

Exposed: Anonymous Source for Latest Roswell Theory

Blogger Anthony Braglia has discovered Annie Jacobsen's anonymous source for the latest Roswell theory. His identity does not lend credibility to the story, nor does Annie Jacobsen's prior reporting. I wonder why this story is emerging now so long after the end of the Cold War, and is it by accident or design?

In Annie Jacobsen's new book, "Area 51," she reports than an anonymous source told her that the Roswell Incident was actually perpetrated by the Soviet Union in order to mislead US intelligence. According to Jacobsen, the source told her that deformed children created by Nazi scientist Dr. Joseph Mengele had been used in a craft of unexplained design that had been crashed near the Roswell Army Air Field for reasons that are not clearly explained in the book. Also unexplained is how the Soviets could have penetrated so deeply into American airspace with a small aircraft described. At the time, only the largest long-range bombers had sufficient range.

Ms. Jacobsen based her Roswell story on an "anonymous source," but UFO blogger Anthony Braglia was able to determine who he was and to interview him about why he would want to spread this story. Read more

Latest Roswell Theory: UFO Was Russian Craft

Investigative journalist Annie Jacobsen presents a new theory of the Roswell incident in her book Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base: a UFO did crash at Roswell, but it wasn't from outer space.

The world famous Roswell "incident" was no UFO but rather a Russian spacecraft with "grotesque, child-size aviators" developed in human experiments by Nazi doctor and war criminal Josef Mengele, according to a theory floated by investigative journalist Annie Jacobsen.

Her book, "Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base," is about the secretive Nevada base called Area 51. One chapter offers the new Roswell theory, citing an anonymous source who says Joseph Stalin recruited Mengele and sent the craft into U.S. air space in 1947 to spark public hysteria.

Like past theories, Jacobsen writes that the U.S. government was involved in a cover-up of the UFO report, which has spawned space alien legend and turned this southern New Mexico town into a tourist attraction. Read more

FBI Memo Proving Aliens Crashed at Roswell Released Online

It's ironic that the U.S. government cover-up of the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico, crash may be undermined by that same government. In a 1950 memo posted online due to a Freedom of Information Act request, FBI agent Guy Hottel reveals that an Air Force investigator had stated that "three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico."

A bizarre memo that appears to prove that aliens did land in New Mexico prior to 1950 has been published by the FBI.

The bureau has made thousands of files available in a new online resource called The Vault.

Among them is a memo to the director from Guy Hottel, the special agent in charge of the Washington field office in 1950. Read more

1949 FBI Memo Reported UFO over Utah

Freedom of Information Act requests have revealed that FBI agents sent an urgent memo to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover in 1949 about a UFO sighting in Utah. Even more interesting, in 1950, Guy Hottel, the agent in charge of the Washington Field Office, sent a memo reporting that an Air Force source said that flying saucers had crashed near Ros­well, N.M., and had been recovered.

On April 4, 1949, FBI agents in Utah sent a cable marked “urgent” to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. It said an Army guard at the Ogden Supply Depot, a Logan policeman and a Utah Highway Patrol officer in Mantua each saw from miles apart a UFO — which they said exploded over Utah.

Under the title “Flying Discs,” the cable said they “saw a silver colored object high up approaching the mountains at Sardine Canyon” that “appeared to explode in a rash of fire. Several residents at Trenton … [reported] seeing what appeared to be two aerial explosions followed by falling object.”

That and other documents show the FBI was investigating whether UFOs were real, and it figured they could be. Such documents are now available in “The Vault,” vault.fbi.gov, a revamped FBI website for documents that have been released through the Freedom of Information Act and have been recently or often requested. The General’s Widow: A Roswell Tell-All

The Roswell UFO incident was the alleged recovery of extra-terrestrial debris, including alien corpses, from an object which crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. The U.S. military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon. However, many UFO proponents maintain that, in fact, a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover-up. Recently, the widow of General Harry Nations Cordes maintains that what fell from the skies to the desert floor in New Mexico six decades ago was not from Earth.

Captivating and credible testimony recently obtained from the elderly widow of a highly-placed U.S. Air Force General reveals that the Roswell crash of 1947 was in fact an extraterrestrial event. Her confession affirms that the true nature of the wreck has been shrouded in secrecy for decades- even from those at the highest levels of government.

Her husband, General Harry Nations Cordes, who possessed Top Secret/SCI clearance, was uniquely positioned to be "in the know" on such matters. Perhaps no other military man in history can lay claim to having been stationed at Roswell Army Air Field in July of 1947, later with Wright Patterson Air Force Base, to have worked at Area 51, been employed by the CIA, to have acted as Deputy Chief of Staff at Intelligence Headquarters for the Strategic Air Command (SAC) and still later to have led many intelligence functions at the Pentagon.

If the debris from the 1947 Roswell crash was from a weather balloon as UFO skeptics claim, why would the Air Force send it to a laboratory for analysis?

A research study that has recently been obtained through FOIA offers stunning confirmation that Wright-Patterson Air Force base contracted Battelle Memorial Institute to analyze material from a crashed UFO at Roswell in 1947. This just-received document also reveals that another one of its metallurgist authors reported directly to a Battelle scientist who was conducting secret UFO studies for the USAF.
