Underwater Discovery Sparks UFO Rumors

The discovery of a strange circular formation in the Baltic Sea between Finland and Sweden has caused speculation that it might be a crashed UFO.

For now, it's an unidentified submerged object. But a strange circular formation deep below the Baltic Sea has sparked great excitement among UFO believers who think it might be a crashed flying saucer.

While searching for shipwrecks in the waters between Finland and Sweden on June 19, a Swedish team of nautical salvagers say they uncovered a "very strange anomaly" -- a round object about 60 feet across resting about 300 feet below sea level. Read more

Latest Roswell Theory: UFO Was Russian Craft

Investigative journalist Annie Jacobsen presents a new theory of the Roswell incident in her book Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base: a UFO did crash at Roswell, but it wasn't from outer space.

The world famous Roswell "incident" was no UFO but rather a Russian spacecraft with "grotesque, child-size aviators" developed in human experiments by Nazi doctor and war criminal Josef Mengele, according to a theory floated by investigative journalist Annie Jacobsen.

Her book, "Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base," is about the secretive Nevada base called Area 51. One chapter offers the new Roswell theory, citing an anonymous source who says Joseph Stalin recruited Mengele and sent the craft into U.S. air space in 1947 to spark public hysteria.

Like past theories, Jacobsen writes that the U.S. government was involved in a cover-up of the UFO report, which has spawned space alien legend and turned this southern New Mexico town into a tourist attraction. Read more

Mysterious Humanoid Figure Photographed in Argentina

Inexplicata-The Journal of Hispanic Ufology reports that an mysterious humanoid figure was photographed by a businessman in Argentina.

Sebastian Aranguren, writing for the July 12 2010 edition of Diario Popular, discusses an unusual photo of an "invisible humanoid" whose presence was captured only by a digital camera after the waters of Laguna del Monte were inexplicably stirred as if by an external force.

The photo was taken by an anonymous businessman from the city of Almirante Brown. Luis Burgos of the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía and his photo analysis team have determined that it is a "clean" image showing no signs of manipulation. "There are very few photos of humanoids in the world," Burgos is quoted as saying, "and this case acquires major significance in national ufology."

The photo was taken on March 14 of this year -- Easter Sunday -- at 15:56 hours by "Ivan" (surnames withheld) in the company of his wife and children. Read more

UK UFO Files Edited

When investigators receive FBI files under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), they find they are mostly useless, because huge blocks information have been "redacted" (blacked out). The Independent reveals that the same thing is true for the Ministry of Defence UFO files that were recently released.

The Ministry of Defence had to blank out "uncomplimentary comments" made by officials about members of the public before publishing its UFO files, a newly released document shows.

Following a deluge of requests under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act 2000, the MoD agreed to disclose its full archive of reported sightings of unexplained sights in the skies.

But a previously secret memo reveals that the files had to be edited for references to military technology, relations with other countries and insulting remarks about the public written by defence officials and police. Read more
